Kahi Puru

Kahi Puru was 29 years old and had almost completed a 13 hour shift when a forklift crushed his left leg resulting in it being amputated at the hip.

Kahi now shares his story in the hope that he can prevent others from injury, and he believes that workplace safety must be the number one priority for any business and its employees.

Married with 4 children Kahi has seen firsthand how a workplace accident can change your life and affect the people around you. Just imagine for a minute what it would be like for your children to have to visit you in hospital!

Determined to continue to live a full life, Kahi started his long road to recovery and used his physical strength to compliment the mental challenge to get his life back on track. He started working out at the gym and represented Australia in powerlifting at the Paralympics.

Kahi admits that he is not a safety expert, but he does believe that accidents can be prevented.

“Working with C & B Safe will allow me to share my message with more workplaces, if I can stop somebody else from hurting themself I will be happy”

Kahi will give your employees a “Wake up” call and ask them to think about their safety responsibilities.
