Fire update 9th Feb

Hi guys, i apologise for hijacking the website but it is the easiest way to keep you all informed.

it is unconfirmed but there is a good chance that my house is burning as i type this. I made the decision when i first moved there that if there was ever a fire, my plan was to leave and stay safe.

When the fires were nearby i activated my fireplan and packed up important stuff & went to stay somewhere safe. Part of the fireplan was to leave my contact details on the door.

a short while ago i received a call from the CFA advising me that they were at my place and the fire was approaching fast! They said they would do what they could but their resources were stretched.

So i write this to you not really knowing if my property is burning..... But, and i know this is used a lot in the media, "At least I am safe"

As soon as i know more about the house ill let you all know. Thanks for the messages of support.

Speak soon and stay safe.

James

Hi James
I am so glad to hear you and the family are safe. It's a cliche - but - houses can be rebuilt...
It's also wonderful to hear that you had a fire and safety policy and you were able to put it into action - when you needed to.
Shall keep my fingers crossed your place will have survived the inferno.
All the very best my friend

Elle said it all babe. You and the boys, and extended family, are safe, and that's all that really counts. So many weren't so well prepared, or lucky.

The loss of your beautiful house and car collection is sad, but bricks and mortar ( and old cars ) can be replaced. Sometimes an enforced " new beginning " isn't all bad either.

I know your positive 'can do' personality will see you through this set back as it has done in the past.

hugz and best wishes
